Two Black Hawk College students recently were selected for the 2024 All-Illinois Academic Team in recognition of their scholarly achievements.
Students are nominated by their colleges for the All-USA Academic Team. Nominees to the All-USA Academic Team are named to the Phi Theta Kappa All-State Academic Teams.
Nominees must demonstrate outstanding academic excellence and intellectual rigor combined with leadership and service that extends their education beyond the classroom to benefit society.
Black Hawk College nominated:
- Elizabeth McDonald of Davenport, IA – transfer path (pictured on right)
- Lena Slininger of Moline – transfer path (pictured on left)
Both students are members of Phi Theta Kappa honor society at the college’s Quad-Cities Campus.
Established in 1918, Phi Theta Kappa has a presence on almost 1,300 community college campuses in 11 nations. The American Association of Community Colleges recognized Phi Theta Kappa as the official honor society for two-year colleges in 1929.
